Real Help for Homeowners in Distress

Dear Readers,

Although it is a very unpleasant topic, this week have I decided to share some great information that can help people who want to save their homes if at all possible. Maybe that is you, maybe it is a friend, relative or co-worker. Feel free to pass this on if you find it valuable.
The Department of Housing (HUD) is the sponsor of certified training that enables agencies, usually non-profits, to help borrowers who need unbiased, useful advice and counseling. This is in contrast to the thousands of homeowners who’ve been scammed by “foreclosure consultants” or “loan modification” firms that charge upfront fees and then disappear into the night. The service is 100% free and it is available to anybody, whether they own a $200,000 house or one that cost $2,000,000.
Below is a link to a very-well written article from Lily Leung of the online publication U-T San Diego that explains these HUD-approved counseling services in great detail.
